Deepal S. Eliatamby, P.E., SCCED is the President of Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc., a  professional engineering firm with offices in Bluffton, Charleston, Columbia & Greenville, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina.  Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. has been recognized as one of the Fastest Growing Companies Head Quartered in South Carolina by SCBiz News’s Roaring Twenties recognition program.  The company was also recognized by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce in its Annual Grant Thornton South Carolina Top 100 largest Privately Held Companies in South Carolina.  The Engineering News Record Magazine recognized Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. as one of the Top 100 Design Firms in the Southeastern United States. Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. was also previously recognized as one of the Inc5000 fastest growing companies in the United States.

During the past 18 years, Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. has completed over 1,950 projects including several notable projects for Adidas, Amazon, BMW Manufacturing, Continental Tire, Crown Cork and Seal, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, E&J Gallo, Giti Tire, Home Depot, Jushi, Kobelco, Magna, Mark Anthony Brewing (White Claw), Nephron Pharmaceuticals, Nexans, Prestage Farms, QVC, Samsung, Toray Carbon Fibers and Volkswagen.  These and other projects represent over $25 Billion in Capital Investment and 35,000 Jobs.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Deepal holds bachelors (1988) and master’s (1989) degrees in Civil Engineering.

Deepal is a member of several professional and technical organizations including the South Carolina Economic Developers Association (SCEDA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the Water Environment Federation (WEF). He is a Past President of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association and still actively serves the organization.  A Past President of the Columbia Chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Deepal has served on many local, state and national committees of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), is a Past President of the Richland-Lexington County Alumni Club of the University of South Carolina, was a member of Alumni Association’s Board of Governors, is a past member of the Industrial Advisory Board of the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering and Information Technology (Civil Engineering), and served as a member of the college’s Partnership Board where he is a Charter Member of the 1894 Society and an Endowed Graduate Fellowship has been established in his name.  Deepal also presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, Southern Carolina Alliance, SCBio, and the NC Southeast Regional Alliance and is a Past Chairman of the South Carolina Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Council.  He has previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the South Carolina State Chamber of Commerce, the Midlands Technical College Foundation, Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR), SCLaunch, the Chester Development Association and Engenuity SC.

Deepal was recognized in 2004 by The State newspaper as one of the Top 20 Under 40 Business Leaders in the 10 County Midlands Region and is the only South Carolinian to ever be a recipient of the prestigious Edmund Friedman Young Civil Engineer of the Year National Award from the American Society of Engineers.  He has also received the South Carolina Young Engineer of the Year award from the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers, the Governors Rural Summit Distinguished Community Service Award, the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering and Information Technology, Ally of the Year Award by the South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association and has been recognized on four occasions for Engineering Excellence at the state level from the Consulting Engineers of South Carolina and on four occasions at the national level from the American Consulting Engineers Council.  In 2006, Deepal was named a Liberty Fellow, a statewide leadership initiative comprising of 20 emerging leaders under the direction of Hayne Hipp, Wofford College and the Aspen Institute.  In 2007, Deepal was also elected a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  In 2022, Deepal was named as one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in the Midlands by SCBiz.
