San Antonio Holiday

December 5-9, 2023

Price: $2,775 per person, double occupancy with a single supplement of $650

This trip features four nights in the same hotel in San Antonio.

Experience the magic of the holidays in San Antonio on this five-day tour.  Unpack once and enjoy four nights in one hotel to enjoy all of that the “River City” has to offer.  Every year after Thanksgiving, San Antonio decorates the famed Riverwalk with over 100,000 lights draped over the cypress trees, creating a festive ambiance along the waterways.

The program begins with a panoramic tour of San Antonio, featuring the San Jose Mission, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The tour also includes a visit to the IMAX Theatre to see “The Price of Freedom,” which tells the story of one of San Antonio’s most iconic sites- the Alamo.  The Alamo was originally built as a Catholic Mission, but its best known as the site of an ill-fated battle during the Texas Revolution.  After the movie, we’ll get to tour the Alamo itself.  A visit to the El Mercado Marketplace is also included.  We’ll finish the day with a Riverwalk Cruise to enjoy the spectacular decorations that adorn the river.

Next, we’ll take a trip out to Texas Hill Country, home to LBJ Ranch- the birthplace, home, ranch and burial site of Lyndon Baines Johnson, our 36th President.  The ranch features his “Texas White House,” where he spent nearly 20% of his time while in office.  Next, we’ll visit the Hill Country town of Fredericksburg, known for its German heritage.  Take time to explore this historic town with some great shopping and dining opportunities.

Finally, we will get to experience the Fiesta de las Luminarias, where over 2,000 luminarias are placed along the banks of the Riverwalk.  Luminarias are a Mexican Christmas tradition where a candle is placed inside of a paper bag to light a path and can be found around the Southwest during the holiday season.  Afterwards, we will enjoy our farewell dinner at a popular local restaurant.

This trip will be available for registration soon.
