Award Amount: $2,000 total, or $500 per year for four years
Eligibility Requirements:
This award is exclusive to incoming freshmen—NO exceptions. At least one parent, legal guardian or grandparent must be a graduate of a USC campus and a current member of the University of South Carolina Alumni Association. To be awarded the scholarship, applicants must have applied for admission to South Carolina and have been accepted.
In-state applicants must present the following: • Weighted GPA of at least 3.0 from an official high-school transcript (as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions)
Out-of-state applicants must present the following: • Weighted GPA of at least 3.5 from an official high-school transcript (as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions) Additional Information: Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis and must meet the requirements noted above. Due to a limited number of scholarships available each year, not every applicant who meets the minimum requirements will receive the scholarship. Out-of-state recipients may also be eligible to receive a tuition rate reduction. Tuition rate deduction is received from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Scholarship renewal is automatic as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and full-time student status and the sponsor’s alumni association membership is current.
