Using Reviewr for alumni awards nominations

A new way to submit nominations

Every year, the University of South Carolina Alumni Association awards alumni with the highest honors given by our alma mater. These alumni awards encompass the true spirit of what it means to be a graduate of South Carolina. Awards honor Gamecocks who stand out in their communities and professions by exhibiting passion, determination and excellence.

  • Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award – named for the great humanitarian and philanthropist, honors an outstanding alumnus or alumna demonstrating professional excellence of character and service to humanity and is the highest honor awarded to Carolina Alumni.
  • Distinguished Alumni Award – honors an alumnus whose professional and personal life has exemplified dedication and excellence in leadership, citizenship and voluntarism while offering a lifetime of devotion to the University of South Carolina.
  • Outstanding Black Alumni Award – is presented to an alumnus or alumna who has uniquely distinguished themselves in his or her professional career, shown remarkable leadership capabilities and positively impacted the community.
  • Outstanding Veteran Alumni Award – is presented to a University of South Carolina graduate who has served in the U.S. military with honor, distinguished themselves in his or her professional career, shown remarkable leadership capabilities and positively impacted the community
  • Outstanding Young Alumni Award – honors graduates under 40 (as of January 1, 2022) who represent the breadth and scope of new talent, has achieved extraordinary success in a chosen profession and has significantly set themselves apart from peers.
  • Honorary Life Member Award – pays homage to friends of Carolina who enthusiastically support and tirelessly serve the University of South Carolina community.

To get started, click the blue “CREATE ACCOUNT AND APPLY HERE” button.

You can also click the blue “LOGIN” button, which will direct you to log in if you already have an account.

FOR NOMINATING ANOTHER PERSON
  1. Enter your information: First and last name, email address and phone number.
  2. Select the award for nomination.
  3. Enter the nominee’s information: First and last name, and email address.
  4. Explain why you are nominating the individual for the award. Be as specific as you can!
  5. Next, you will answer a series of questions.

The nominee will receive an email from us notifying them of their nomination and requesting their resume or CV.

FOR SELF-NOMINATION
  1. You can also nominate yourself for an award. To self-nominate, click the “Self-Nomination” button at the top.
  2. Select the award for nomination.
  3. Enter your information: First and last name, email address and phone number.
  4. Next, you will answer a series of questions and be directed to upload your resume or CV.
SUBMISSION

You can hit the green “SUBMIT” at the end to submit your nomination. If you’re not ready to submit, scroll back to the top and hit “SAVE & LOGOUT.”

All nominations are due Friday, April 1, 2022. All nominations will be reviewed in early spring, and award recipients will be announced in the summer.
