March Newsletter

Wes Hickman, UofSC Alumni Association Chief Executive Officer

Gamecock Family,

It has been a great honor to serve the students and alumni of this university for the past eleven years but it’s time for me to pursue other passions and tackle new entrepreneurial challenges. Friday, March 3rd will be my last day at the Alumni Association. My wife and I are staying in Columbia and will remain steadfast fans and supporters, living out what it means to be Life Members. In fact, we’ll be at Spurs Up Sprint this Saturday helping raise money to support scholarships for future generations of Gamecocks. It’s not too late to sign up and there’s a link below!

The Association is in great hands with our Chief Experience Officer, Tiffany Foxworth, stepping in as Interim CEO while the Board of Governors conducts a national search, chaired by Alumni Association President-Elect Michael Bond.

I can’t adequately express my gratitude for all the support you have shown the Association over the past four years. Your engagement has inspired us to do more programming than ever — hosting football tailgates home and away, launching new affiliate groups, creating new scholarship programs, connecting students and alumni through a new mentorship hub and bringing more Gamecocks back home for new annual events like the Spurs Up Sprint, Golf Tournament and Gamecock Gala.

I know you will continue to embrace all that the Alumni Association has to offer our Gamecock Family. Remember, however, that membership in the Association is the key to making it all happen. It is the easiest and best way to give back to students and alumni across the university and around the globe.

Let’s stay in touch, connect on LinkedIn or Facebook and I look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Forever to Thee,

Wes
