February Newsletter — What’s New at USC?
There may still be a chill in the air across the Palmetto State, but the Gamecock spirit is certainly heating up! Students are back on campus, the USC Women’s Basketball team is undefeated, and there’s a palpable excitement as we enter a new era of the university.
This edition of Alumni Monthly is jam-packed with ways for our alumni to engage and connect to their alma mater.
Introducing the 30th President of the University of South Carolina

On January 20, 2023, Dr. Michael D. Amiridis was officially invested as President of the USC system. Prior to coming home to Carolina, he served as Chancellor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I aspire for USC to be known nationally and internationally as one of the cradles of academic innovation of our times.
USC President Michael D. Amiridis, Ph.D.
Carolina Day 2023
On Tuesday, February 14, alumni, students, faculty and staff will come together in a united effort to share their love for the university. Carolina Day serves as a way to share our experiences and our stories of impact with our lawmakers.
